COUPLE took part in NetZero Milan 2026, the expo-summit on decarbonisation technologies held at Allianz MiCo – Milano Convention Centre from 20 to 22 October. Decarbonised hydrogen and hard-to-abate sectors were among the key themes on the agenda.
The project was presented at the ICONS stand, which brought together 15 EU-funded projects on batteries, renewables, buildings, industry and mobility. Visitors learned how COUPLE combines two membrane technologies, palladium-based membrane reactors and proton ceramic electrochemical reactors, in a single integrated process. The proton ceramic reactors generate the heat needed for the ammonia-cracking reaction, keeping energy losses to a minimum, while the process targets 95% hydrogen recovery.

The three days also offered an opportunity to connect with industry stakeholders and specialised hydrogen media, raising awareness of the project among key audiences in the Italian hydrogen sector.
